Happy Thanksgiving!

All week, 826NYC's students have been hungrily anticipating the holiday. Yesterday Dalia treated staff to a solo performance of the "Short Fat Turkey Song," and Alex, a vegetarian as of last Wednesday, drew hand-shaped turkeys and continued to declare, "Don't eat meat. If you do you're killing life!"

We've also kicked off a new writing project with a talented group of seniors from Brandeis High School. Yesterday, we met with the students for the first time.

The Williamsburgh Writing Annex: Coming Soon!

The writing center has been buzzing with news of the Brooklyn Public Library & 826NYC Writing Annex, a new tutoring and writing room set to open at the Williamsburgh Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. The Writing Annex (also rumored to be the new home of the Brooklyn Superhero Alliance) is set to open the first week of December. We're still on the lookout for tutors and sponsors to help kickstart this project—please give us a call if you're interested!

The Superhero Supply Store has quickly recovered from the invasion of villains last night. The staff sorted through candy wrappers and pumpkins this morning, unearthing a few photos and an anonymous blog .
