Supersonic

by Kaya, 7

Written during Create Your Own Superhero, taught by Lucas Anderson & Elaine Palucki

February 2006

Not to be confused with the Seattle basketball team of the same name, Supersonic is a hero with the powers of super speed, super hearing, and super sight. Her powers take her far in her quests To Stop Zander From Taking Over the World...which is actually her motto. Her supersonics don't just end with speed, sight, and sound; she is also quite an accomplished ice skater and swimmer.

Zander, her nemesis, is no match for Supersonic and her sidekick, Sura (who has the power of super strength). Together they hatch plans to stop him from their headquarters, which are actually a secret room inside her bedroom. Along with her headquarters, her identity is also a secret. By day she is a mild-mannered student, but when the need arises so does Supersonic!

Supersonic manages to fund her life as a superhero because she inherited her grandfather’s candy cane factory. She enjoys an unlimited disposable income and all the candy canes she can eat. The legend of how Supersonic came to be is unclear, but it is believed that while on safari, Supersonic climbed onto the back of a magical cheetah and absorbed its powers.
