When Mac and Peter and The Stranger Fell

by Ronald, age 7

Written during Drop-In Tutoring

September 2009

One time there was a wizard chasing after two brothers, Mac and Peter, who were different kinds of people, short and different colors. The wizard had evil eyes and a three inch-long wand. Mac and Peter got a shield to protect themselves from the wizard’s magic, so they wouldn’t get hurt. It was raining. A green stranger, who was also short, came to help Mac and Peter. He connected the bottom of his sheild to the top of the brothers’ shield to make one big wall.

However, the storm shocked all three of them and they fell all together into a hole. The hole was wide at the bottom and skinny at the top, so at the bottom, the hole was very dark. Peter, who was old and smart, started a fire so they could see.

"Luckily, there's a ladder reaching from the top of the hole all the way to the bottom," Peter noticed.

As Peter was looking at the rope ladder, Mac and the stranger accidentally fell into a river running through the wide bottom of the hole. At first, Peter didn’t fall because he was holding onto the ladder. Then the ladder broke, and he fell too. He held onto his part of the ladder, and as the river swept them together over a waterfall, he tossed the other end of the rope to Mac and the stranger...
